DUE: You are permitted to turn in all assignments and extra credit early. Also, while I have set specific months to turn in these Assignments and EC's, I am going to accept all work turned in at any time during the term until the end of term, whenever that is at this point. Each assignment and extra credit will technically correspond with a month, but once again, you may turn in any assignment and extra credit at any time before January 15th.

Short Essay: (10 points)
1. If you were to create your own spells and charms, how would you go about doing that? Describe the process.

1. Why are some magical spells written to rhyme? Do you agree with this theory? Why or why not?
2. Name one of the theories listed in the lesson for the reason behind why spells and charms are in the Latin language. Do you agree with this theory? Why?
3. Describe a personal theory that you have for why most charms and spells, in general, are written in Latin.

Extra Credit: (30 points) (Minimum: 250 Words)
From the lesson, there are many possible theories that might make magic happen and could explain why magic exists. For your final EC, I would love for you to theorize your own personal beliefs on why magic can exist, how this magic exists, and how you would go about creating new magics and different types of magic, if at all.
