DUE: You are permitted to turn in all assignments and extra credit early. Also, while I have set specific months to turn in these Assignments and EC's, I am going to accept all work turned in at any time during the term until the end of term, whenever that is at this point. Each assignment  and extra credit will technically correspond with a month, but once again, you may turn in any assignment and extra credit at any time within the term limit.

This is a two-part section. First part worth (5 points) *

Look for the introduction post and I want you to introduce yourself and tell the class a little about who you are. Why are you taking this class? What do you hope to achieve by taking it? You don't specifically have to answer those questions, but it would be nice for me to know. You know, curious minds inquire.

Question: In your personal opinion, do you think people fear what they do not understand? Do you believe that if one can understand the something they fear, would their opinion change toward that one thing?

Extra Credit: (30 points) - Any amount of words.

We can all understand the sensitivity and tact needed to be in a position of power within the Ministry of Magic.

We're making monsters! Well, not really monsters, but I want you to create a new species of magical creature! Awesome, right?

Requirements:

- Name of the creature

- What does this new magical creature look like?

- Does this magical creature possess super cool powers, like the power to shoot lightning bolts out of its eyes? Or...something like that.

- Where would this creature be happiest living? What type of environment?

- Does this magical creature have any natural enemies? (Like the Basilisk's sworn enemies are spiders.)
