A Roaring Round-up
Author: Sky Alton, Gryffindor

The End of Term? Where did that come from? Surprising or not, the end of the school year is upon us again.  Birds are singing, flowers are blooming and the giant squid is basking in the shallows of the lake. It’s been a busy term: the departments (Library, Art and Quidditch) re-opened, we delved into fairy tales with the ‘Story Book’ Activity and we tracked down a host of missing magical critters. While lots of things are winding down though, there’s still plenty to take note of around the castle and in Gryffindor Tower.

There’s a chance to earn yourself some last minute rubies with our final quest of the year (and this is a particularly exciting one). Remember that we’ll be handing out trophies to the Gryffindor with the most rubies but also to our highest earning guest. Rubies must be earned by the 29th of June to count and you can check the rankings by clicking on the dedicated ‘Rubies’ tab on the CR. Discussions and games are still going strong too so don’t forget to drop by. The fun doesn’t end just because the term is over: we have something remarkable (and explosive) planned for July and the first half of August so be there!

While most classes will have finished by now, there’s still plenty to do around HOL. The Art and Library Departments will be launching fresh projects for the summer, giving you the chance to get some house points in the bank for next year. You can still provide feedback on submissions for the June Projects while you wait. Over on the main forum, the book Club and Hollers still have challenges, prompts and all sorts of other things open until the end of June. This means you still have time to bag yourself some shiny awards! In addition, the
last Gathering and Games of the school year is on June 23rd. Keep an eye on the main forum for announcements of summery fun too.

Slytherin are celebrating their annual Emerald cup with a pitched battle between the forces of good and evil. For something more restful, why not head to The Sett where they’re indulging in some relaxing colouring with Mandala Magic? The 4 houses usually have stuff going on during the summer too so make sure to pay the occasional visit during July and August to see what might be occurring.

I hope you’ve had a magical year and achieved at least some of the things you set out to do. Don’t let those days of summer distract you too much as there’s no need to say goodbye - there’s still much fun for the having during our 2 month long summer holiday. Whether you stick around over the summer or only board the Hogwarts Express again on September 1st, see you next year! *5 beans to anyone who gets that reference
